Biosolids is the sewage sludge produced during the biological treatment of wastewater after it has been treated to a standard that makes it safe for further beneficial use.

The Environment Protection Authority provides written guidance in relation to the treatment of biosolids and its appropriate reuse applications. The authority requires all water corporations to work towards 100% reuse of biosolids.

South Gippsland Water sees the inherent nutrient value of biosolids and aim to in future, beneficially recycle all of the biosolids we produce each year.
