South Gippsland Water’s isolated water storages are vital to the water supply needs of communities in remote parts of South Gippsland. The protection of our water storage assets is a priority for South Gippsland Water.
In some parts of Victoria water storages are available for recreational access. Water storages managed by South Gippsland Water have not been included on the list of Determined Recreational Areas under the Water Act 1989. Fortunately, the South Gippsland region is filled with an abundance of opportunities for water recreation along our magnificent coastline.
The Victorian State Government has recognised this by investing in upgrades to coastal boat ramps in Inverloch, Port Welshpool and Mahers Landing at Andersons Inlet, with future upgrades planned for Port Albert, Toora and Walkerville South.
Recreational fishing opportunities abound across South Gippsland, supported by local angling clubs. To find out more information on recreational fishing, contact one of the local clubs or associations.
