Community To Have Its Say on Water For Victoria

The Victorian Government has released a Water for Victoria discussion paper that summarises the key challenges facing the water sector in Victoria and outlines how Victorians can strengthen their water system for decades to come.

The Government is now calling on Victorians to have their say and attend a public consultation session at Federation College, 130 Nerrena Rd, Leongatha on Wednesday, 20 April at 6 – 8 pm.

Managing Director of South Gippsland Water, Philippe du Plessis said, “I encourage our customers and the local community to join the conversation by attending one of the government’s Water for Victoria community forums.”

The forums seek to:

  • Provide a broad introduction to the Victorian Government Water for Victoria discussion paper
  • Capture community feedback on key elements of the discussion paper and key local or regional issues
  • Provide information on how to make a submission to inform the final water plan.

“Community input is critical and we want to tap into local experiences and knowhow. This is a great opportunity for all of us to have our say.”

The community workshop will be held [at Federation College, 130 Nerrena Rd, Leongatha on Wednesday, 20 April at 6 – 8 pm.
