Grant for Water Wise Scouts

Monday, February 17th, 2014

The Inverloch Scouts have recently installed a new rainwater tank with help from South Gippsland Water’s H40 Grant Scheme. The ‘Help 4 Water Efficient Organisations’ (H40 Grants) are available to community and not for profit organisations to improve their water efficiency. Over the years, money has gone to a wide variety of projects and organisations.

The Inverloch Scout Group are the latest recipient of funding from South Gippsland Water with the Scouts receiving money towards a new rain water tank that is connected to taps and toilets in their Scout Hall at the Inverloch Recreation Reserve.

Pictured below are (L-R): Group Leader Mark Withers with Scouts Gabe Orr, Jack Casey, Sebastian Toomey and Eamonn Toomey in front of their new H40 sponsored rain water tank.

Group Leader Mark Withers was keen to impress that the Scouts are very environmentally conscious with the Inverloch Scout’s now having a tank for toilet flushing along with a solar hot water unit installed. The Inverloch Scouts meet every Wednesday from 6-8pm at their Scout Hall at the Inverloch Recreation Reserve and the group is looking forward to their up- coming water day which is spent at Walkerville South. The Scouts will participate in an ‘Iron Cub’ event along with rafting and sand castle building.

Funding is still available for other community groups wishing to improve their water efficiency and grant application forms can be found on the South Gippsland Water website www.sgwater.com.au under the ‘Community’ tab.
