Storage, River Flow and Rainfall Update

Monday, March 15th, 2021

Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages during the week of 6 March to 12 March was Lance Creek 6mm, Ruby Creek 5mm, Deep Creek 9mm and Battery Creek 4mm.

South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that rainfall has remained steady over the last weeks, keeping our reservoirs and creeks at good levels.

“Lance Creek Reservoir, which services Korumburra, Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Paterson, is at 81 per cent and Ruby Creek, which services Leongatha is at 68 per cent. Deep Creek which services Foster is at 90 per cent and Battery Creek, which services Fish Creek is at 84 per cent,” he said.

“This week’s rain levels have kept our water storages in good position, however, we need to continue to be mindful that Victorian Permanent Water Saving rules apply. Always remember to water your gardens between 6pm and 10am, sweep and not hose down pathways and driveways, and install trigger nozzles on all outside hoses.”
