Storage, River Flow and Rainfall Update

Sunday, March 21st, 2021

Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages during the week of 13 March to 19 March was Lance Creek 17mm, Ruby Creek 0mm, Deep Creek 12mm and Battery Creek 13mm.

South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that rainfall has increased slightly over the last week, keeping our reservoirs and creeks at good levels.

“Lance Creek Reservoir, which services Korumburra, Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Paterson, is at 79 per cent and Ruby Creek, which services Leongatha is at 67 per cent. Deep Creek which services Foster is at 90 per cent and Battery Creek, which services Fish Creek is at 83 per cent,” he said.

“This week’s rain levels have kept our water storages in good position, however, we need to continue to be mindful that Victorian Permanent Water Saving rules apply. Always remember to water your gardens between 6pm and 10am, sweep and not hose down pathways and driveways, and install trigger nozzles on all outside hoses.”
