Storage, River Flow and Rainfall Update

Monday, April 19th, 2021

Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages during the week of 10 April to 16 April was Lance Creek 33mm, Ruby Creek 53mm, Deep Creek 41mm and Battery Creek 39mm.

South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that rainfall has spiked over the last week, keeping our reservoirs and creeks at good levels.

“Lance Creek Reservoir, which services Korumburra, Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Paterson, is at 76 per cent and Ruby Creek, which services Leongatha is at 60 per cent. Deep Creek which services Foster is at 98 per cent and Battery Creek, which services Fish Creek is at 95 per cent,” he said.

“This week’s rain levels have kept our water storages in good position, however, we need to continue to be mindful that Victorian Permanent Water Saving rules apply. Always remember to water your gardens between 6pm and 10am, sweep and not hose down pathways and driveways, and install trigger nozzles on all outside hoses.”
