Storage, River Flow and Rainfall Update

Monday, May 10th, 2021

Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages during the week of 1 May to 7 May was Lance Creek 8mm, Ruby Creek 8mm, Deep Creek 23mm and Battery Creek 21mm.

South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that our reservoirs and creeks are at good levels.

“Lance Creek Reservoir, which services Korumburra, Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Paterson, is at 75 per cent and Ruby Creek, which services Leongatha is at 56 per cent. Deep Creek which services Foster is at 99 per cent and Battery Creek, which services Fish Creek is at 98 per cent,” he said.

“This week’s rain levels have kept our water storages in good position, however, we need to continue to be mindful that Victorian Permanent Water Saving rules apply. Always remember to water your gardens between 6pm and 10am, sweep and not hose down pathways and driveways, and install trigger nozzles on all outside hoses.”
