Storage, River Flow and Rainfall Update

Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages during the week of 29 May to 4 June was Lance Creek 3mm, Ruby Creek 4mm, Deep Creek 3mm and Battery Creek 6mm.

South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that our reservoirs and creeks remain at good levels.

“Lance Creek Reservoir, which services Korumburra, Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Paterson, is at 76 per cent and Ruby Creek, which services Leongatha is at 53 per cent. Deep Creek which services Foster is at 100 per cent and Battery Creek, which services Fish Creek is at 100 per cent,” he said.

“Even though we experienced less rainfall last week, our water storages remain in good position, however, we need to continue to be mindful that Victorian Permanent Water Saving rules apply. Always remember to water your gardens between 6pm and 10am, sweep and not hose down pathways and driveways, and install trigger nozzles on all outside hoses.”
