Storage, River Flow and Rainfall Update

Posted by & filed under .

Rainfall recorded at South Gippsland Water’s storages during the week of 12 June to 18 June was Lance Creek 30mm, Ruby Creek 28mm, Deep Creek 26mm and Battery Creek 46mm.

South Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Philippe du Plessis said that our reservoirs and creeks remain at good levels.

“Lance Creek Reservoir, which services Korumburra, Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cape Paterson, is at 84 per cent and Ruby Creek, which services Leongatha is at 79 per cent. Deep Creek which services Foster is at 100 per cent and Battery Creek, which services Fish Creek is at 100 per cent,” he said.

“The storms and heavy rainfall which our region recently experienced has kept our storages at good, in some instances full levels. Even so, we need to remember that Victorian Permanent Water Saving rules still apply. Always remember to water your gardens between 6pm and 10am, sweep and not hose down pathways and driveways, and install trigger nozzles on all outside hoses.”
