Working to clean your pipes

Monday, November 15th, 2021

As part of our ongoing program to ensure a reliable wastewater system, South Gippsland Water will be conducting a pipe cleaning program starting Monday 15 November and ending Tuesday 22 November in Yarram, Toora, Foster and Waratah Bay.

The process, called sewer jetting, pushes high pressure water through the pipes to remove built up sediment from the system.

You may notice some noise from the pipes while the cleaning process is near your property. Rest assured, you will be able to use the water and wastewater services at your property while the program is taking place.

Be prepared:

Normally the process will not impact your property. However, it is best to be prepared if there is a blockage in your area. While the works are operating, it is recommended to close all toilet lids and place a heavy object on top. Please also ensure your property’s overflow relief gully is clear. The overflow relief gully is a drain-like fitting located outside the property. Further detail on these can be found at www.sgwater.com.au

Thank you for your patience while these important maintenance works take place. If you have any further questions, queries or concerns, please call the South Gippsland Water team on 1300 851 636.
